Armaclad Plant

Over a Century of Tradition in the Making

In 1874, in a small mill in Quincy, Pennsylvania, an entry door of the highest quality was hand-crafted with precision and care. Today, over 120 years after that first prime door was made, Armaclad remains loyal to its mission of producing only the finest home-exterior remodeling products marketed under the trade name ARMACLAD.

In the many decades since its founding, Hess has seen several changes and additions to its product line. In the early 1950's, Hess extended its product line to include mill-finish, aluminum storm doors. Attention to detail and quality alerted The Hess Team to the fact that these storm doors were often susceptible to condensation and energy loss during colder months and in 1963, a new product, the first solid wood core storm door in America, was developed.

The tremendous popularity of this Hess innovation elevated the company's status in the industry, and in 1965 a new product line was introduced - The Armaclad Patio Enclosure System. Shortly thereafter, The Armaclad Prime Entry Door System was also introduced to the marketplace. For the next two decades, Hess continued to manufacture, research and improve these products.

Armaclad has found a unique niche in the industry by being one of the few providers of custom home-exterior remodeling products. Every Armaclad product is individually crafted to the exact specifications of a customer's home and taste.

Armaclad, Inc. continues to grow, continues to develop new and innovative products and most significantly continues in their time-honored tradition of quality craftsmanship which has been in the making for over 120 years.
